Become a teacher

The requirements to becoming a yoga teacher are:

  • Complete 200 hours of practice. This will be achieved by attending all 7 weeks of training. There will be an additional week of training only for those who wish to become teachers. This week will bring together all the disciplines covered.
  • The classes will start on Saturday January 13 at 10am and will end on Thursday March 1st at 8pm.
  • Classes will be held every Saturday from 10am – 2:00pm and 3:00 – 7:00pm and Sunday to Thursday from 6 – 9pm.  Saturday afternoon classes are dedicated to those who wish to become teachers. On Saturday afternoon we will practice and refine the skills needed to teach.
  • You will have about 2-3 hours of homework a week to do.
  • You will have a project to do at the end of the training that will require 20 hours of your time. You will have 1 month to complete the project. The project can be based on something you enjoy and hope to include in your future classes. You will need to hand in the completed project prior to obtaining the official certification.
  • When all requirements are completed, you will obtain an official certification that can be used worldwide to teach yoga, known as the Yoga Alliance Certification. If the requirements are not completed, you will receive a Blue Nile Lotus certification.
  • This is an intense and very rewarding experience that for many is life shifting. Please make sure that your work, family and personal commitments can support the training. We look forward to embarking on this journey with you.

We have kept prices low and have included a sliding scale model, so that those who can pay more help support those who can not afford these rates. We thank you for your generosity.

For yoga students who need financial assistance to achieve their yoga teacher training certification,  you can request a scholarship. A scholarship is a request to pay a smaller amount than the full price of the training.

There are a limited number of scholarships, so when filling the application please be thorough. There will then be a follow up converstaion with Nathalie.
